About the Film

Júnia Graduated in Environmental Management, Interior Design and Graphic Design, she studied film and photography direction, and animation. She is passionate about patchwork, photography, animals, nature.
From 2014 to 2015 during her studies she got in touch with renowned Brazilian and international professionals working in animation.

In 2017 she completed her first film entitled Tobias Tatu, a short stop motion animation that born from her passions and skills, a film was entirely made by her hands, character, scenery, photography, animation, editing of images and sounds.

All the production was done in the living room of her house, she drew the little armadillo and all the scenery and made them of fabrics using artistic patchwork techniques.

The poem’s voices are from her nieces, Alice Consani and Nicole Cristine, and were recorded in a car with an old cell phone.
The film has been shown at 25 festivals around the world, international, nationals and, Ibero-American.
Tobais Tatu was a finalist in 2 festivals.

The film was selected for International Animation Day, where it was screened at the Children’s Show in more than 150 Brazilian cities simultaneously on October 28th, as well as in parallel shows in several cities on other dates, even for the same festival.
