Hope: Everyone has hope. We all are trying to reach our hope in different ways with various reasons. In this film “HOPE”, we can see how a typical community is seeking to achieve their hope in their own perspective and style through education. The “HOPE”, is based on a monastic school called “Shwe Ku”, a place in the Dry Zone of Myanmar. The abbot, founder and the president of the school, has his own hope which comes from love and consideration concerning with the students and the people around his village. We can see the head teacher’s hope for the students which is based on her experiences. The novices and the students have their own hope as well.
How religion teaches people and society is also explored in this film. The nature of giving and taking is one of the ingredients along with the importance of education. All in all, this film demonstrates the experiences; loving, sharing, solidarity and consideration along with the unique tradition, culture and life style of the society in Myanmar.
